16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, New International Version)

Theme:  Rejoicing and Thanksgiving

I hope you had a blessed time of reflection yesterday whether you fasted or not.  Today is dedicated to reviewing what we have learned over the past five days.  As you perform your review, please consider catching up on any comments you may have missed.

Question:

How have you been blessed by thinking about rejoicing and thanksgiving through the lenses of Prayer and Fasting?

Please leave a comment.  We would love to hear from you.

  1. I prepare myself and get in the mindset that my focus will be on fasting and praying. I already know I’m not thinking about making breakfast, or doing anything else for that matter, except taking what I consider to be a sacred time to focus on time with God.
Yes, it is a blessing to rejoice and thank God during this time.

  2. It has given me a fresher and deeper perspective of rejoicing and thanksgiving. I also fasted for the first time ever that wasn’t a fast to lose weight! It helped me see what a great tool it is to reflect on the deeper things of God. These lessons helped to open my eyes that rejoicing and thanksgiving its not just for the good things but also in times of darkness too. I hope the knowledge and wisdom lasts because it can be easily forgotten.

  3. Fasting by skipping one meal showed me that I can do it in His name.
    Gave me the strength.
