I prepare myself and get in the mindset that my focus will be on fasting and praying. I already know I’m not thinking about making breakfast, or doing anything else for that matter, except taking what I consider to be a sacred time to focus on time with God.
Yes, it is a blessing to rejoice and thank God during this time.

It has given me a fresher and deeper perspective of rejoicing and thanksgiving. I also fasted for the first time ever that wasn’t a fast to lose weight! It helped me see what a great tool it is to reflect on the deeper things of God. These lessons helped to open my eyes that rejoicing and thanksgiving its not just for the good things but also in times of darkness too. I hope the knowledge and wisdom lasts because it can be easily forgotten.

Fasting by skipping one meal showed me that I can do it in His name.
Gave me the strength.
