40 Days of Discipline

40 Days of Discipline: Day 4 – Review

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.  Do what it says. (James 1:22)

Today is dedicated to reviewing what we have learned over the past three days.  Yesterday, Duane ended his comment by saying, “I am going to apply this to my own life.”  Thank you Duane!  Application is what we want.  We don’t study God’s word for information only. We study it primarily for transformation.  Spend your 15 minutes today reflecting on the Bible study over the last three days.  If you have missed any of the days, you can catch up.  Also, if you have not had a chance to review the comments, I strongly encourage you to do so.  You may want to read Psalm 139 again.

Ask God to help you to apply the lessons from His Word to your life.

Something to think about:

  • What did you learn this week’s study that you can apply?

As always, we welcome your hearing from you on the blog.

  1. What I have learnt:
We can only ‘ walk the talk’ with God’ s help.
We need to be ” salt” & ” light” for God’ s glory.
We cannot do that by our own strength. We need to always humbly stay close to God & His Word; and listen to and act on His guidance/ corrections.

  2. In terms of my identity, I need to remind myself that if I only hear the Word and do not live it out, I am deceiving myself. To me that is a spiritual identity crisis. In addition, although God already knows everything about me, I still need to ask Him to search my thoughts and my heart and cleanse me from secret sins or faults.
