40 Days of Discipline: Postscript – Thanks & Celebration

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.   They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.   While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them.   In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!   Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ”   Then they remembered his words. (Luke 24:1-9)

Jesus is risen!   “Where, O death, is your victory?   Where, O death, is your sting?”

Thank you so much for taking part in the 40 Days of Discipline journey!   It has been a pleasure to fellowship with all of you in our electronic meeting place.   To all our commentators, we are deeply indebted to you.   This year, the daily readings were done in such a way that they were incomplete without commentary.   Thank God, every day we had insightful commentary.

I wish you and your loved ones a blessed Easter Sunday.   If you have participated in this journey and you have any residual questions, including questions about being a follower of Jesus, please do not hesitate to contact me.   You can leave me a message on the www.40daysofdiscipline.com website.

I hope that you are better equipped to pursue the Disciplines for your good, the good of those around you, and for God’s glory.   Remember the motivation is love and we have resurrection power!

Until next year…..

  1. For believers, Easter is a celebration of the power of the Living God while for others, it may seem like a confounding mystery.

Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day”. (Luke 24:45-46)

All Praise and Glory to our God as we celebrate Easter.

    Happy Easter to all!

  2. Norman, I just want to say a huge thank you, no doubt on behalf of everyone who you’ve led through this 40-day journey, for your selfless service, in love, and in so doing, for setting such a wonderful example for all of us.

You have been used of Him, for all of our good and for His glory. May He continue to bless you abundantly, enabling and allowing you to bear eternal fruit for His name’s sake.
    Amen
