I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High. (Psalm 7:17, New International Version)

I could use the shield of faith more. Although I totally trust God and know I can count on Him, sometimes when things come up that cause stress and worry, I forget to leave these things to Him….. immediately.

The Sword of the Spirit, reading, meditating on & memorizing God’s Word. Also, the Shield of Faith. In James 1:22 it guides us to also act on the Word, not only hear it. Similarly for faith, James 2:14 & 18, the importance of deeds are of utmost importance.

Keep growing in the knowledge of of God through faithful bible study and taking God at his word. Be anxious for nothing means exactly that – it is not my place to worry – God has promised to perfect that which concerns me (Psalm 138:8). Thereby building durability in my shield of faith – I look forward to the day when I am not fazed by difficulty and trouble, and can be joyful in all circumstances knowing I can persevere under it, which is my faithful witness to the world as a follower of Jesus Christ.

I think the study reminds me that I have to make sure I always put the full armor of God ( Ephesians 6:11) when I dress up. I say that because in this stage of my life now, almost every day I have to dress up and attend many official events in the diplomatic, international, local communities as well as here in the official residence. We invite many guests and hold sit down dinners almost every day. Everything should be worn properly….the breast plate of righteousness, the belt and the shoes were my feet can walk and stand firmly – my complete gear/weapon to fight the schemes of the devil . He should not be given any chance to devour. So far, I believe without my faith and trust in God, it won’t be easy to carry out all my official obligations. Grateful for God’s grace and presence of Holy Spirit that leads me and gives light to my path every day. Be consistent in prayer. Despite my busy schedule, I still manage to join a zoom prayer group in my church and I can also participate taking turns to lead the devotional as members take turn every twice a week to lead the prayer and fellowship time.

Praying scripture is the practice I will leverage this coming week to rebuild this method of both warfare and Thanksgiving.
