40 Days of Discipline: Day 34 – Review

5Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God.  6He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them—he remains faithful forever.  (Psalm 146:5 – 6)

Today is dedicated to reviewing what we have learned over the past five days.  We have covered the Disciplines of Counsel, Creation and Sabbath.  Please reflect on what we have discussed regarding the three disciplines as they relate to God’s glory.

We have now completed our review of the 11 Disciplines and during Passion Week we turn our full attention to Jesus and behold His glory.

Ask God to help you to apply the lessons from His word to your life.

Question:

What did you learn this week that you can apply?

  1. I usually have so much to prepare for my work week that it has become the norm to also do quite a bit of work on the Sabbath. There are certain chores I don’t have my own kids do because I want to make sure that after church they have as much time as possible to relax. I also encourage them to get all homework completed before Sunday. However at some point in the day I will spend more time than I should doing work, at the neglect and expense of my family.
After what I’ve learned this week, I have decided to honor the Sabbath and do as much as I possibly can to prepare for my work week before Sunday without compromising family time and my “rest” time.
