40 Days of Discipline: Day 10 – Review

Be alert and of sober mind.  Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)

Today is dedicated to reviewing what we have learned over the past five days.  We have covered the Disciplines of Bible Study and Spiritual Warfare.  I encourage you to check out the comments if you have not already done so.  I promise you that you will find them extremely valuable.

Ask God to help you to apply the lessons from His word to your life.

Question

  • What did you learn this week that you can apply?

  1. I especially like the rating for how aware we are of the spiritual battle, and how we rate ourselves when it comes to relying on the weapons God gave us to defend ourselves from the enemy. I didn’t give a specific number on myself but I was certain that I rely on the weapons God gave us, as we face spiritual battles on our journey on earth. Ephesians 6:11, 14
Put on all of Gid’s armor so that you will be able to stand againts all strategies of the devil. Stand your ground putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousnes.

  2. I learned that want and need to dedicate time to Bible study, not just daily devotions. I want all aspects of me to be transformed by God’s Word.
My goal is to include the 7 steps admired by people who diligently study the Word. In addition, the write-ups in the Bible Study section of the Disciplines tab also gave some suggestions that I plan to follow. (Thanks for these, Cedric).
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  3. By reading the comments I learned that it is not a done deal and that as I long as you are living you are learning and I am so happy to be part of this spiritual journey.
Putting on the arm our of God to cope is a great way.

  4. Throughout my spiritual journey, I have discerned the difference between being at peace and being under spiritual attack. Confusion is not of God. God’s presence is peace. Thus, I have discovered how to put on the full amour of God and pray.

I am reminded of the scripture “No Weapon that is formed against the shall ever prosper.” Isaiah 54:17

  5. Earlier this week a line in someone’s comment struck me. It served as a reminder to acknowledge “the small sins” because accepting them or ignoring them is a slippery slope to the lie that they don’t “count”. I am reminded of how the little sins affects my relationship with a Holy God.
