40 Days of Discipline

40 Days of Discipline: Day 16 – Review

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22)

Today is dedicated to reviewing what we have learned over the past five days.  We have covered the Disciplines of Prayer and Fasting.  We had another wonderful week of contributions from those who have written comments.  Please check out the comments if you have not already done so.

Ask God to help you to apply the lessons from his word to your life.

Something to think about:

What did you learn this week that you can apply?

  1. My take away from this week is to honor God and who He made me to be by not deceiving myself and others. I can’t deceive Him. He knows all things. Prayer and fasting are disciplines I either do or don’t do. I should not be inconsistent or half hearted in either.

  2. The quality of my relationship with God is dependent on my communication (prayers) with him, and the extent to which i am obedient in the application of his word.

  3. The important thing is to please God with my worship when I fast & pray: NOT spectators.
