40 Days of Discipline: Day 21 – Creation (extra credit Discipline)

We have been seeing God through many of his direct creations. Today we will do something slightly different.

Today, our passage of scripture is Exodus 31:1-5:

Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “See, I have called by name Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. I have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship, to make artistic designs for work in gold, in silver, and in bronze, and in the cutting of stones for settings, and in the carving of wood, that he may work in all kinds of craftsmanship.

We can also see God through the skills and abilities he has bestowed on his creation. Today, pay attention to the special things that humans have designed and built. This could be anything from architecture to paintings to jewelry…you get the idea. It is wonderful when we can see beauty in things built by others or ourselves and know who to give the ultimate glory.

  1. Today as I left home at around 4.45am to walk I looked up and was truly blessed by the stars I saw in the sky. Somehow it looked as if there were hundreds of stars and none of them were dull. Then as I passed the NAPA building I said to myself look how God has given His creation the wisdom to design and build something so beautiful(and that was before I looked at today’s study).
Thank you Lord for your creation. Praise be to you Lord.

  2. What never ceases to captivate me is the steelpan. An amazing creation, originally made from castoff drums. From garbage to a fine tuned instrument producing quality sound equal to any other. And not just one type but a variety. When the different types of pan come together the orchestral sound is simply amazing. And I thought about us, made from dust, a complex creation. It seems that, made in God’s image, man mirrors that creative quality……. something from nothing, idea to execution. God is awesome!
