16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, New International Version)

Theme:  Rejoicing and Thanksgiving

Service and Stewardship are certainly exciting avenues to rejoicing and thanksgiving.  Today is dedicated to reviewing what we have learned over the past five days.  Please take the opportunity to catch up on any comments you have missed throughout the week.

Question:

Have any of the passages this week been particularly inspiring as you seek to perform acts of service and stewardship while rejoicing and giving thanks?

Please leave a comment.  We would love to hear from you.

  1. The disciplines of service and stewardship are indeed exciting topics! Stirs the heart. There is a passage of scripture that I do not recall being mentioned in this study that has been particularly inspiring to me! Malachi 3:10-12 in part reads “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty….” Well last year I decided to take God at His word and test HIM. I wanted to be freed from an expensive mortgage that caused me undue stress and consternation. I stuck to discipline of tithing 10% of my income and within months of me putting God to the test and asking to be freed of this mortgage and the responsibility for the upkeep of the property, GOD inspired me to put the property up for sale (something I resisted in the past) and sent a wealthy buyer to purchase it in “cash”! Just like that a burden lifted!! I was astonished at the speed at which things developed, expecting the property to be on the market for at least a year, but the buyer appeared within 3 months of going to market. What a blessing! Praise be to God!! Obedience in stewardship resulted in rejoicing an thanksgiving even up to this day! What a relief.

  2. This is a great testimony, Ayanna. Thanks for sharing!.

  3. I had an anxiety attack this week without warning but I remembered to rejoice and continue serving and praying. Thanks to all the verses you and everyone posted.
The devil did not like that.

  4. The passage from Friday is an encouraging reminder to use whatever resources we have to serve others, and as we are serving others, serve them as if we are directly serving God Himself.

  5. This week’s 2 Corinthians 9:6-15, was very inspiring. It talks about Christian generosity. This prompts us to be grateful to God. Being generous in giving as well as in serving and sacrificing for God is an act of faithfulness and trust on the part of the believer. I’m very much encouraged by this passage from this week’s study.
