40 Days of Discipline: Day 22 – Review

“I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.” (John 13:15)

We have had another great week observing how Jesus practiced the Disciplines.  The Disciplines of Worship, Fellowship and Creation are clearly linked to our relationship with God and fellow believers.  I am, therefore, confident that if we apply the lessons we have learned from Jesus our relationship with God and others will improve.    I hope you will take the time to dig a little deeper into these topics.

Please review the thoughts that have been shared this week (including the comments) and respond to the question below.

Today’s Question:

What have you learned this week that you could apply to your practice of the Disciplines of Worship, Fellowship and Creation?

  1. I have learned this week that if you will just be more aware of everything around you,, you can appreciate God’s Love through the beauty of nature. You can magnify the Lord and praise Him wherever you are and whatever you’re doing. Here in Oman I realize I feel the joy and at peace just by looking at the big rocks and mountains especially when I am driving on the freeway with such huge rocks in front of me and on my left and right side. Indeed, looking at these view assures me that God is my rock, my refuge, my salvation. It gives me peace although the roads here in Oman are so wide and the rate of car accident is so high here, somehow, I feel safe while looking at those high mountains and rocks. I feel like God is there looking at me and protecting me, as he knows I don’t like driving very much, and since Friday is a holiday here, there’s not much car on the road on early morning when I go to church to attend the service, which made me more appreciative of the beauty of this country. During weekdays,, the road is more crowded so I’m grateful we have a personal driver who takes me to my BSF class on Tuesday morning. My personal driver is also a Christian so he doesn’t work on Fridays as I believe he also has to go to his church and worship the Lord. Another, blessing that I found here is a bible study fellowship group. . God is good, I never thought I could enjoy all these things (going to church,, attending BSF) while living in the Middle East. Being in the 40 Days of Discipline class is also a blessing. All of these help me focused on the Lord, his gift of salvation and his unconditional Love for me.

  2. I need to spend more time praising, more continually replacing my perspectives on life with His.

  3. One of my sisters and I were talking today and she mentioned the story of Joseph. She mentioned how scripture states that God was with him. She has been reminding herself all week that God is also with her at all times. This week I am encouraged to practice the disciplines of worship, fellowship and creation by being more in tuned to that truth – Jesus is ALWAYS with me. He is with me through His Holy Spirit.
